2018 Most Innovative Use of Technology Award: Kelly Powers
Kelly Powers began her teaching career in 2001. After teaching for two years in the Malverne School District, Kelly became a classroom teacher in the East Williston School District. For the past 15 years, she has been a third and fourth grade teacher at North Side School.
Since 2011, Kelly has been the general education teacher in an Instructional Co-Teaching classroom, working collaboratively with a special education teacher on a daily basis. Using technology in her ICT classroom has provided multiple opportunities for students on all levels to expand their learning. She provides technology based education to both students and colleagues, enjoying learning new and innovative ways to incorporate digital tools into her everyday teaching.
Kelly lives in Mineola with her husband and her three daughters.
